Product Photography - A Recent Shoot Series

Panama City Product Photographer

One of my passions in the photo industry is to connect with small brands to collaborate on visuals to market their product or service. There’s some sort of innate camaraderie when I get to work with other small businesses. Being a small business myself, I understand the grind. I understand the seemingly thousands of hats that a person has to wear. We have to be the service provider, the salesperson, the marketing department, the customer service rep and complaint department etc. No thanks to platforms like Instagram and YouTube, the life of photographers and videographers is overly glamorized. Road trips, big brands, fancy cinematic b-roll films run over epic music tracks run rampant on social media. Real life is not that glamorous. I love my job as a photographer, but it’s mostly emails and screens. The times that I get to work alongside other small business owners, thats when I come alive the most.

Recently I created a handful of images for a small business. The owner contacted me because he saw the image I created for A Smith Bowman Distillery. He liked the style and vibe, and wanted to find a way to showcase his product, in a similar look and feel. The final image at the top of the post was the culmination of our consultations, as well as the cooperation of a local pub (The Lie’brary on Beck). It was a bit of a last minute opportunity to shoot in their space, but it was the perfect fit for my clients vision. Being a Panama City Product and Brand Photographer, I love to find ways to collaborate with local businesses in the area. The final image was created to market the clients product in use, an example of “product lifestyle” imagery. Staged and captured in the environment, this image is a composite photograph, utilizing available light as well as off camera strobe lighting. Let me know your thoughts on the image I created for this shoot!
